He trained at St Georges’ Hospital; His post graduate training was at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, Southampton University Hospital and Lord Mayor Treloars Hospital.

Specialist Interests

Mr Stranks is a General Orthopaedic Surgeon but has a special interest in Joint Replacement especially Primary Hip and Knee and Revision Hip Surgery. His practice includes Mini Incision Hip Surgery and Rapid Recovery. He still enjoys general orthopaedic surgery and runs a general Orthopaedic Clinic weekly in Alton.

He is actively involved in Hip Replacement Research and has published and presented on Foot Pump and DVT Prophylaxis, Rapid Recovery and Metal on Metal Hip Replacement.

He is also enjoys and is involved with Junior Doctors Training at the Foundation and Registrar Level
